Security

We know how important your data is to you and VPSNine will take all steps necessary to ensure your data is safe and secure in our systems.
  • We ensure all our software is patched to the latest versions and recommended patches or configuration changes are applied timeously.
  • We implement firewalls to restrict access to our infrastructure
  • All data centres where our equipment is located are staffed 24/7/365 with onsite security, security cameras and biometric readers for access to the facility.
  • We have a 24x7x365 abuse department to handle issues
  • We do not store any credit card details, this is handled by our payment providers.
  • Backups: It is the clients responsibility to take backups of their data. For managed clients where we do provide backups they are encrypted.
  • Your communications with our control panel are secured by SSL.
  • You have full control over your own VPS server, but we highly recommend that you follow good Linux security practises, including implementing firewall rules to close all ports as far as possible and to only use encrypted communications with you server.
  • root passwords are stored in our systems to enable us to send you our Welcome email and also to further support you if you do need our help with any issues. You can however change the root password from the Linux command line and we will no longer have a record of it.
