VNC With Ubuntu

Hello, here we will write a short guide for showing how to install the VNC on Ubuntu. Like in windows that we have Remote Desktop Connection with grahical interface.

First of all, rebuild your VPS with a version of Ubuntu. The connect to SSH with the Console from the vps panel or with putty and we type this commands:

1. We firstly update the ubuntu: sudo apt-get update
2. Then we install ubuntu desktop: sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop

And we continue installing VNC:
sudo /etc/init.d/gdm start
sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
sudo apt-get install tightvncserver

Now that we have installed the VNC on our panel, we should put a password with the following command:

You will be asked if you want "View Only" you need to type "n" for No, thats mean that it will work but you wont see the graphical interface.

Let's Start VNC
vncserver :1 -geometry 1024x768 -depth 16 -pixelformat rgb565

Download the TinyVNC (Windows) or Chicken of the VNC (Mac)

Put the IP and the port like you will see up in the command:

vncserver :1 -geometry 1024x768 -depth 16 -pixelformat rgb565

The port is 1, so you need to type the port number 1. And the password you puted at the begining for your VNC. Now you will unlock the visual interface in a linux VPS.
